Sutured
2012
24x24
oil on canvas

One of the things I love about the painting process, is how paintings reinvent themselves.
Just when I think I have a clue who they are and where they are going, they totally transform.
Often when I think a piece is done it turns out it was just resting.

As for this one, specifically, it came out of the painting posted on August 13, 2012.

It has surface details that show better when you click on the image.

  1. That's amazing! I don't know how you can take something like that and go in such an entirely different direction. I went back and looked at the original painting posted on August 13th... I'm blown away by how talented you are as an artist!

Wow! Keep up the great work Joanne!

  2. Thank you, A. Nonny Mouse!
It is like taking a walk in the woods. You think you are headed in one direction, but then you see this cool mushroom or fallen tree and you just have to change course (and hopefully don't get too lost!).
