2011
19x16
acrylic on paper

There is something about the lack of specificity in this portrait that feels more to the point, more sincere than my trying to illustrate facial features.

  1. To detail or not to detail: my constant struggle....somebody said "think slowly and paint fast" and that's something I strive to do but it usually works that I think fast or not at all and try to make marks quickly and then wonder what I have. I like this. Compare notes sometime?

  2. Sure, but I'll tell you right now, I fall deeply in the "don't think, just paint!" camp. Probably no surprise there.
