I know, I thought I was done, too.
I promise, I'll stop.

Like it! Sea, sky, sand and shell/distinct and connected so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm happier with it now. I was confused by this painting, and previously called it done because I didn't know what else to do. Then I asked for criticism from my friend and masterful painter/printmaker Randy LeSage. He said he liked the way the sky was integrated with the shell and suggested I try to do something similar with the ocean. I don't know if this is exactly what he had in mind, but this is how I handled it. I feel like this rendition gets to what the painting is about (the sound of the ocean, not the look of the ocean) much better.
ReplyDeleteIt is so important for artists to exchange critical thought on their work. It is how we grow, learn, and discover who we are as artists and what we care about as people. Honestly, I love praise, who doesn't? but it is such a gift when someone takes the time to look and think and take the risk of saying what doesn't work for them.
It is brillian! And I think you can see it in person now at the Post Road Art Center "Floating" show....
